If you’re looking for something a little different for your wedding day, something interactive, meaningful and beautifully personal, then live wedding guest illustration might just be it.

It’s a relatively new form of wedding entertainment, but it’s quickly becoming a favourite. Why? Because it’s low-key, fascinating to watch, and your guests leave with a hand-painted keepsake created just for them. A tiny piece of your wedding day, captured in watercolour.

What does it cost?

My live illustration packages start from £565 for six hours, based on around fifty illustrations. Each one is hand-drawn and hand-painted with care in watercolour. No templates, no “one size fits all.” Every pose, every outfit, every little detail is lovingly observed and individually created.

For weddings with larger guest lists, I’m always happy to create bespoke packages, so it’s absolutely worth getting in touch for a tailored quote.

More than anything, I genuinely love what I do. Seeing guests’ faces light up when they spot their finished illustration on display is such a buzz. It’s a joy and a privilege to be invited to be part of such a special day.

When should you book?

If you’d like a live illustrator at your wedding, I recommend booking at least six months in advance, earlier if you can, especially for peak wedding season. I only take on a limited number of weddings, and once the date is gone, it’s gone!

How it works on the day

I only ever cover one wedding per day, so you have my full attention. I’m not rushing off anywhere, I’m there to be part of your celebration.

I usually arrive around 30–40 minutes before the ceremony to set up, get familiar with the venue, and introduce myself to the coordinator. As guests arrive, I explain what I do and invite them to have their photo taken for an illustration. Once the ceremony begins, I start painting.

For six hours, I’ll be creating throughout the day; chatting with guests, answering questions, and welcoming anyone who wants to watch the process. It becomes a lovely talking point and a relaxed focal area during drinks and the reception.

Finished illustrations completed on the day are ready for guests to take home. Any remaining portraits are carefully completed back in my studio and posted to you within two weeks - perfect to include with your thank you cards.

What can be illustrated?

Almost anything!

I’ve illustrated couples, friendship groups, bridesmaids and groomsmen, babies, dogs, wedding cakes, bouquets; even a family of eight squeezed into one illustration. One particularly touching request involved including a much-missed family member, painted from a photograph and added into a family portrait so he could still be part of the day.

I also adore painting wedding venues in watercolour. These make beautiful gifts for the newlyweds, thoughtful first anniversary presents, or even a creative alternative guest book, where guests sign the mount around the painting. Framed and displayed at home, it becomes something you can revisit for years, reading those messages and reliving the memories.

Venue illustrations can also be commissioned for bespoke wedding stationery - another service I offer for couples who want a truly cohesive and personal touch.
